Our latest "mail art" exhibit is called “Letters, Numbers
and Literacy”.
The show will feature work by 100 artists from across the country.
Each artist was asked to create an art piece using an 8"x8"
board that was sent to them through the mail, keeping in mind the title of the
show, Letters, Numbers and Literacy. Our hope is to increase public awareness of
illiteracy in our country and to help benefit
Oregon's Literacy Program at Chemeketa Community College.
All work will be for sale with silent bidding for the entire
month.
Bids start at $50 and increase in $5 increments, or you can purchase for $200.
To bid, call the gallery (503.581.3229) and we'll write it in. The last day to
bid will be Feb. 26th; we'll close the books at 3:00 pm. The highest bidder will
be contacted soon after.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the
Adult Literacy Volunteer Program at Chemeketa Community College.
The Literacy Volunteer Program provides literacy consultation
and education to adults (16+ years and not in high school) who are unable to
access the college's regularly scheduled Adult Basic Education and English As a
Second Language classes. Through individualized and small group sessions,
volunteers tutor students in reading, writing, and English conversation,
focusing on the life skills and work skills needed to achieve self-sufficiency.
